Oh man there are so many great writers out there, its hard to choose a favorite. I guess I'd pick Dee Henderson as my favorite because her books completely and totally enthrall me. Often I find myself laughing (or crying) out loud, even when I'm in public. I read her books over and over when I have nothing else to do/read. I love the way she writes. My other favorites include Jane Austen, Janet Evanovich, Dan Brown, and Alexandre Dumas.

Actually my favorite writer changes with my mood and tastes. It goes through stages of a few years and than a change. I went through a stage where Thomas Hardy was my favorite, than Tom Wolfe, then James Stewart, and now cheesy murder mysteries especially those by Diane Mott Davidson and M.C. Beaton.

The cheesy murder mysteries fit me right now because I do a lot of very heavy reading in my work. The light stuff is just very entertaining and fun.

Right now, I'm reading a book by W. Korol Selley. I look for books with more than 4 characters. This author presented more than 40 in "Magic Men" and I like to challenge myself in keeping track of them up until the end of the story.

I would have to say Emily Bronte. She makes the 1800's more real than a lot of the other books like by Jane Austen.

I also like Terry Brooks. His fantasy novels just come to life when I read his books. It's a good getaway.

LaMontagne and Snyder. Their book King Fortis the Brave helped inspire me to be a teacher, and now I use it to help inspire a love of reading in my students.

Augusten Burroughs. It's the dark humor. He makes me laugh, but I'm appalled I'm laughing. For some strange reason I love that feeling.

Stephen King. His mind is really out there and it's amazing wondering how he comes up with his stories. Love scary stuff!

Harlan Coben. He writes a good mystery which are interesting yet smooth to read and he ties characters in from previous novels. Plus I love his name...Harlan, so old school, yet cool!
