I mean, if Mike Vick is all so good then why cant he make it to a superbowl? (Or win one) I mean, he's got something not all QB has, the speed of a running back. He can throw far, he can pass out of the pocket. Everyone is saying he's all great and yet last year he ended up 8-8.

Wait a sec....

As far as winning the Superbowl...well Peyton Manning hasn't made it to the Superbowl yet neither. I don't hear nobody saying that he's way overrated.....? (Which he's Not)

Vick is not "way overrated". The Record of the team doesn't classify a QB's greatness. A lot of Great QB's Struggle in the beginning of their careers. Troy Aikman went 1-15..and Oops...He's being inducted in the Hall of Fame.... Look what happened to Drew Brees.. He Turned out to be good, and with the 180 project that's going on with the Saints, he has the potential of making it there as well.

Look at Matt Hasselbeck and how he struggled Early in his career, and look where he went last yea??r....To the Superbowl.
Even Jake Plummer in his Arizona Days made a good Turn around with the Broncos,

Oh..and let's not forget about Brett Farve. and how he Struggled terribly early in his Career, and how he managed to become a Superbowl Winner...

So for everyone who think that Vick is overrated, should put those names into consideration first.

Well i do agree with you but it kind of hard to say hes overrated just because he hasnt won a superbowl. He's olny been in the league 5 years. There are many players who are better than Mike Vick who havent won a superbowl and have been in the NFL longer than 5 years. Also i dont think that Mike Vick is the right fit for the falcons he wuld be a much better QB and live up to his potential if he was playing somewhere else

Umm... I havent heard much of anything about Vick. He is a good scrambler, but so is McNabb. The difference between the two is experiance. Vick sometimes makes bad choices when it comes to running/passing. But it can be hard to make quick decisions when there are two 300 lbs D-lineman comming at you, you know you can out run them, so, put on a show. But then you take that cut left and make a break for it. Then, who is standing 5 feet away, just following your movements? The Defensive End, thats who! He stayed home and did his job and now will only give you a 2 yard gain, or demolish you with a huge hit and either Sack or Force a Fumble. So, it is hard to make the choice, Vick isnt overrated because he is a good player. BUT great players dont make it to the Superbowl. Great TEAMS make it to the Superbowl (well exept for Pittsburg, that was a fluke). If Vick can hook up with 4 good WRs and 5 Linemen, then you will see him in the superbowl.

ok, last year was bad because vick had so much pressure on him to not run as much and pass more, that he did and struggled. when vick runs and doesnt worry about trying to be a pocket QB, hes great. about the super bowl, the guys only been around since 2001, that means he has only had 5 seasons to get his team there, including 2004 where he only played 5 games. you give vick another 5 years and he will have a super bowl, you cant just judge him now when hes only been around a little while.

No way in hell Michael Vick is overrated, underated is more like it. Michael Vick can light up the score board and he can do something Manning can't and that is run, if you see Manning you know that if you send the blitz he has about 5 seconds to get the ball out of there or he is going to be on his butt, Vick can scramble and make plays happen when the play goes to ****.

IMO, yes. He was a #1 pick has had time to develop (reference to Donavan and Daunte--Daunte's fluke last year aside). He still has problems with accuracy and decision making. I will disagree with people who say he needs to be a WR or RB because he isn't talented enough to make the switch. His speed would help him in those positions but that's all --- As a QB he keeps you guessing whether he'll run or pass(well, he's still working on the passing part...), but at those positions you just have to have him covered well. He is a player who needs an offense centered around his special way of play (see Vince Young) and to be truly successful you play on a high level no matter the scheme.

You need a solid team around you to try for a Super Bowl, but right now, Vick is overrated. He's gotta learn to pass well enough to keep defenses honest. Just hit the open guy, even 10 yards downfield.

The Falcon D needs to get better against the run too....

I agree completely. Mike Vick is a great athlete, but a below average QB. He can run, he can catch, but look at the number of interceptions he throws compared to the TD passes he's thrown. Not impressed with his throwing ability at all.

Vick is a great athlete, no doubt, but a great QB? I do think he is over rated in his QB skills. Can or will he ever develope into a top notch NFL QB? Maybe. We've seen other running style QBs adjust their games and become very able but will Vick?

Let's think about this for a moment. No Vick is truly the best QB in the league. I mean come on who else can be as frightened as he is when he steps up to the line? He's like the kobe of football people hate him because he is a glory hogging, fame seeking, cokc sukcer.
