Go with the flow. The doctor needs all the info they can get to make proper diagnosis. However don't let them think they are smarter than you. Go at your own pace in weight loss. And before you go make a list of everything you want to talk about. Not enough time in first appointment - book as many as you need to get what you want. Take a good friend if it will help.

I think she will still want to weigh you.
Measure you in that way she must.... to assess how much weight and body fat you are losing.
If you were my patient, I would be so thrilled that you wanted to lose weight, and that you were coming to see me.
So thrilled.
You would be one of the patients I would be happy to see and help.
So don't be embarassed.
We all like having patients that actually want to be helped.
There are alot of patients that are seen that have gained a lot more than 35 lbs... And they don't want help... so don't be embarassed, be proud that you are doing something about it.

Doctors weigh you for many reasons, the most common having to do with any medications you take (how much, how often, strength of the dosage). The doctor will still weigh you, and if you want to lose weight take to the him/her about it. They'd be the best one to help you in it and they should know.
