I have a medium size tank with a betta divider in it with a male on one side and a female on the other.Sometimes the female likes to squeeze through the divider to his side of the tank. I am wondering if the male hurt the female's fin when she was with him. Something else could have made her fin this way.But I know it isn't rotting or anything like that. Will her fin grow back naturally or will I have to get a special medicine for her?Is this normal?

angling cyclist is right, if it is not fin rot, it will grow back slowly. You will see new tissue filling in the torn areas in a week or so. Mela-fix is very good. It will help promote regrowth of tissue.

If she is in the tank with a male all by herself, then he is likely attacking her. As long as some of the fin is remaining it will grow back if water conditions are good. There's something called Melafix that will help promote its healing.

Melafix is a good remedy -- and it smells good too! We used to get "female" bettas in that were actually males with short fins. They would fight with each other, and with a bigger male, they would beat them up!

If your water condition is good, if you can grow live plants, you should be able to have them heal okay, but I Would add the melafix.
