You are confused on the fact that there is no such thing as world peace. Just like you post a question that is sure to incite anger in people by using snipey comments, different people in different cultures don't think the same way.
The only way you could have peace is if everyone thought the same, and did the same and that's just not reality. Not for me.
So, stop watching the news. There have always been wars all over the world from the days of Cain and Abel.

I believe that you have to choose your wars, now WWII was a prime example of a war that created peace. The defiance of tyranny was a victory. hgitler had to be stopped, and he was. Peace came after germany fell, and then there was the Korean war, also a defiance of tyranny that was also won. Vietnam and the first gulf war were a joke, I don't think that the us should have been involved in those wastes of times. The war on terror I do agree with to an extent. They have gotten saddam, and his kids. they should be getting bin laden and call it quits, but then again if they leave all together, then the twin towers would be happening again. I believe that you should choose your battles.

If I kill everyone of my enemies, then there would be no one left to fight. So, yes, war does create peace... and a lot of bodies.

But a limited war without commitment to driving it to its logical conclusion does not create peace, just excuses for the next war.

The real solution is education -> seeing this existence for what it is, just a quick temporal blip on the way to something eternal.

If you are going to war against an enemy that is determined to kill you no matter what then I would think that war is the only way to acheive peace.

Think about it in these terms. If your neighbor decided that he was going to kill you at all costs, but you decide you don't want to fight one of two things is going to happen.
A) He will succeed and kill you
B) You will at some point take him seriously and have to kill him

If you choose A you die, if you choose B you achieve peace.

It sounds like you are not at the point of taking the enemy seriously, but your country's leaders are.

I don't think the leaders of my country want to be in wars, but sometimes they are necessary (ie. Hitler) and I am glad that my leaders understand that.

The only way war can create peace is if it kills everyone except one person. People will never have peace when someone is always wanting to bomb someone else.

If I attack you to steal your money, I'm degrading the peace by sending out the message that attacking people gets rewarded. I also inspire the hatred of my victim and their friends and family.

If I attack a man to protect YOU from him, as he is robbing you, then I add to the peace by sending out the message that violence will result in a counter-attack. And I would also inspire loyalty and friendship from you and your friends and family.

So, it's about the reason(s) you are fighting, not about the fact that you are fighting. And if those reasons are a pack of lies, then who is to say that it isn't just a crime?

We could have changed them with fear, And because we didn't go far enough and beat the population into submission, We will now pay a huge price to stop it from growing.

You must live in the USA. War can create peace. But the way G.W.B is doing it, definetly wont work.
