Those homeless beggars spend their money on what they think they need most.
What do you spend your money on, I mean whatever you don't invest?
If you don't want them to spend your money on some addiction, keep it and invest it! It wiil make the bank happy!
However, if you want to talk about giving money or anything else to someone who asks you, don' think about what he/she will do with it. Ask yourself if you really want to help that someone. The answer will tell you whether or not YOU will benefit from the act.

Well, if they never spent it on food, eventually they would die. You know, if I was living on the street, I think I would need a drink just to be able to deal with such a terrible fate. I hate how people refuse a poor man a dollar cause they are worried about him getting a beer. Then later, you have a beer yourself. That's pretty cold..

I have seen first hand what they do with it. i gave a bum $10.00 before and he went straight into the gas station and came out as I was sitting in my car. He had two 40 oz bottles of beer and a pack of smokes. I believe that most bums are alcoholics and they are just trying to get their next fix. The only time that I have seen them eating is when the shelters open for free food.

I have heard of giving them gift certificates to fast food restaurants. I am sure they can trade these off if they would rather the alcohol or drugs, but it might make you feel like you are helping them more.

Some buy food but I believe the majority of the time it goes for alcohol or drugs.

In response to your question the homeless society answered "why lie - i need a beer!" (i had to input it on my computer since they do not have internet connections in the streets)

I think they buy....BEER! And you know what, if that's what they tell me they want a dollar for, then I'll give it to them. If I can bring a little happiness to a homeless person's day with a can of beer, so be it.

Get into their Hummer and drive to their mansion, along the way passing a real homeless person who they purposely drive through a puddle to splash.

I would hope that they use it for food and necessities, but the honest truth is they probably don't!
