im taking the class to get the credits toward my degrees, im a business/liberal arts major (yes im gettin 2 degrees at once) and yes I know copying is also known as plagiarism, thats why im fishing to an ocean of collective knowledge rather than just diving into works by other authors...

when in doubt, research something you enjoy. try to find something you would like to learn more about. Think about a topic within your major.

Dear Coppa One:
It's hard to do a research paper for someone else, because a research paper calls for research. That means looking things up, finding references, giving statistics and all that sort of thing. And if you do copy someone else's work, it's called plagarism. And that's a no-no.
So, that puts the ball back in your court.
What are you interested in? Or curious about? Why are you taking the writing course? What kinds of writing do you like to do? Have you thought of comparitive research? For example, is there any correlation between literature and music? Is there a rap or hip hop equivalent in literature? How much do they influence each other?
You don't have much time, but once you find a topic that interests you, you should be able to get it done.
Good luck.
