honda catalytic converter problems-check engine light?

On my old 1997 civic lx I had the same thing. But there was a recall for it, and it replaced the entire ignition system and cats. I'd go search around for you model, year, and trim level for a recall. Otherwise if you aren't in a smog state, get a test pipe.

might be your O2 sensor, you might go to a honda message board and search for engine codes and how to read them and then go from there
