You are right, of course. Whether the fellow on death row commits the murder, or the state when he gets the lethal injection, murder is murder.
Having said that, I am no hypocrite, and I understand that we should not be in the business of murdering our fellow man, regardless of how right it feels. It takes intellectual honesty to just say, "murder is wrong...from abortion to euthanasia to lethal injection."
Now, I am somewhat ashamed to admit that even though I understand all of this, I still want to kill someone who has killed helpless children, or is a mass murderer. I don't justify my thoughts, I know they are wrong. Yet, I can't bring myself to let it go. And I suspect there are a lot of people in my boat, that are very conflicted on this issue.
Even though your question makes a very valid point, I hope you understand my point of view as well.

I think that when someone commits a murder, we let them go to jail and do their time. Therefore, it is equal- one wrong balanced out by one right.

Sorry I can't agree with you on this! I feel that the punishment should fit the crime! Besides when someone takes a life I think that they should olse all of their rights. If they are put in prison for life they still have all the same basic rights that you and I have. Except for the fact that we have to pay for their rights. And why should we have to pay for their living expenses!!!???? I can barely pay my own.

You obviously haven't felt the grief of the victim.
You should stay with asking that Two Lefts will make a right though.

I think two wrongs make a right-because just like mathematics; two negatives cancel each other out and make a positve # or make it right.
