i have worked in customer service for years...i try very hard to help people and make them happy...it is hard to keep smiling when they are yelling and calling you names when you are trying to help them....people today are unreasonable and think they can get their way by throwing a fit...i think people would receive better customer service if they treated the sales staff and customer service reps like human beings...

Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes. The day of good service seems to be a thing of the past. Too many jobs, and no pride taken in a job well done anymore. How many times when You check out, do You say thank you, instead of the Cashier? They wad Your clothes up, and stuff them in a bag. I just take them out and fold them. Another really big pet peeve of mine, is when You are walking through the store shopping and two employees, that are supposed to be stocking, are griping big time, about how much they hate their jobs, and cussing loudly the entire time. And You can call some, (MANY) places, four times, and everyone will give You a different answer. Yes I DO NOT need attitude from Someone I am giving My hard earned money to.
Thanks I feel better now......
P.S. Maybe We should all take the time to change it, by reporting bad behavior. A revolution..........

I agree. I place the blame on the particular businesses that are responsible for training their personnel. They might act as if they care, but they don't really seem to. I particularly dislike being told "there you go" after conducting my business. I generally respond with "yes, here I go". If a clerk fails to say thank you, I just say "you're welcome". Most of the time they get the hint and finally thank me. Sometimes they're stupid enough to reply "no problem". That really rankles me! Of course its not a "problem" you fool. You are there to serve me, not the other way around. My patronizing a store or shop is called "job security" for the clerk!
How about the supermarket clerk kids that continue their personal conversations with each other while they're checking you out. Very rude! Occasionally, I'll respond with "I'll wait until you've finished your conversation". That tends to unnerve them and make them realize that their conduct is unnaceptable.
Just keep reporting poor and/or rude service to management. Eventually they'll get the message that the public will not tolerate it.

Things are different than they were years ago. The clerk in the store now has no commitment or loyalty to the store at all, he or she is just there for the check. If they can get paid without helping customers, they won't lift a finger.
Bosses shouldn't stand for it, but they don't want to pay more than minumum wage, and they don't want to hassle with it.
Customers shouldn't stand for it. If you get bad service somewhere, shop somewhere else next time. If you find a store that takes good care of you, keep going back and tell your friends.

I'm a Service Tehnician. I enjoy my job, but some customers can drive me NUTS and ruin a day. Thankfully I don't deal with the 'public at large'.
I do agree that many companies have terrible C.S. and the people working there seem like they'd rather shoot themselves than help someone. The problem may be with their management. Report their behavior if you think the are being rude or ignoring you.

Unfortunately it's getting harder to find but It does still exist. I work in retail for a company that cares about their employees and I guarentee you'd recieve exceptional customer service there! I feel a lot of companies anymore care only about their profit and treat their employees like numbers. Employees who feel disposable don't care about the company they work for or it's customers. After all companies think that if their prices are the lowest the customer will return reguardless of how they are treated.

Yes I completely agree. The customer si not always right now and yes it seems like we are being done an oh so big favor. Shunted form one ques to the next.
But you know what, I have learned to kill these people with kindness... Being extra nice in a contrived way just to show them their behavior is unacceptable.

it must be the dep. you have been at or it must be that economic corporation's way of working often. additionally, i could think of the folk working at banks presently are under pressure concerning to the economic concern and the questions they ought to handle all day. No excuse for undesirable habit, of direction. attempt finding on line to be certain in case you are able to song down an instantaneous telephone variety (no longer an 800 #) for his or her company headquarters or perhaps an e mail for the CEO. call or e mail them and clarify precisely what surpassed off and why you're disenchanted. See what their reaction is. in the event that they fee your corporation, they're going to make issues perfect. in the event that they do no longer do something, flow all your bills someplace else. there are multiple options obtainable so there's no reason to handle blunders AND undesirable shopper help. stable success.

People in CS get treated like crap (literally getting yelled at and called stupid when that's really not the case - is our job really supposed to be able to know what the prices are over in some other stores in far off lands?), and nobody stands up for them, so it just gets to a point where it's like, "why bother", if they just get yelled at anyway. ..Basically - bad customers ruin it for the good ones.

Yes. It just keeps getting worse and worse. It just seems like there's no more personal pride in a lot of peoples work performance. I'm here for my paycheck is the attitude of a lot of people today.

I agree that customer service is in the pits, but it is that way for a simple reason... stores have no reason to be good at it. With every store so bad, we as customers have no other choice.
