Could be a sign of healing, but twelve years old?
Did he get a lot of sun prior to this?
Is the scar from a cut caused by glass?

I don't have a scar, but I've got an abdominal hernia. My belly button sticks out really far and it bothers me. It really isn't painful, but it's kind of silly looking and embarrassing.

I have one on my left elbow. I shattered the elbow in Dec. so the scar is still fairly new, and it does itch. I can't stand scratching it, so I have someone do it for me. It's just one of those things I can't touch. yuck.
