1) Make sure you run disk cleanup (system tools) and do a defrag.
2) Right mouse button click "my computer" and check properties. If the circle is half full - your machine is going to start slowing down so if it bothers you, you might want to delete some junk.
3) Go to Internet Options and Delete the cache and files (I actually click on the last tab and say "automatically clear cache each time I close internet"
4) If you've done all of this and you're running Norton - I'm almost sure it's the culprit. It is notorious for slowing down computers - I mean really slow. I took it off of 3 computers and use other 'less invasive' software but it works great. Good luck

Computers do not slow down with age. Most likely you have caught a virus or your are maintaining a library of spyware.

Do you have any antivirus software? If not get some, I like comodo, and it's free. Update the software, and scan your computer.

Do you have any antispyware software? If not, get some. I swear by Ad-Aware and Spybot, both free. Update and run them regularly.
