I looked for a new job for a long time. I finally got the job of my dreams and really "hate" it. Everybody tells me it would be a big mistake to leave and I'm not sure what to do. What do you think? Should I stay with a secure job with a good retirement or risk it?

How is it the "job of your dreams" if you hate it?
A few things to consider if you "hate" your job:
1. Is it so miserable that it is interfering with your health?
2. Is it a safe working atmosphere?
3. Were your expectations not met on some level? If not, analyze what expectations you had, and why...then think about whether or not you had an unreasonable standard, or whether you can change the situation.

If you have something else lined up, feel free to go elsewhere. With jobs in the USA at a premium right now, I wouldn't make that move unless you're very financially prepared to be out of work for a while, or take anything just to get by.

I had a job I hated for 4 years, but it literally had my health declining. I had high BP, migraines 2-3 times a week, and other health issues as a result of the high level of stress. I was suicidal and deeply depressed. I had to value my life over the job, so I walked away from it. If you're not in this situation, sit tight until you find something else.
My best to you.

If you truly 'hate' it, get out. You will find something you enjoy and live more happily. You may not realize it, but employment happiness goes a very long way in determining human happiness. One caveat, find the new job before leaving the hated position. Goforit.

That is similar to my first question. I have a low paying job that I
love doing. Done higher paying one I could not stand. I go to work with a smile and come home feeling euphoric.
I read a horoscope by Sly Stallone's mother that my my job is one of the best suited for me. I would say to listen to your heart and if you are not happy where you are,go to a job that you love and make it work for you.
Good luck.

No job is worth having if you 'hate' it. I used to work for a multi-billion-dollar publishing company and knew executives who made millions of dollars a year, but they hated coming to work every morning. They just couldn't walk away from all that money! Life is too short to tie yourself down to a job you 'hate'. Find another 'dream' job and reach for the stars! -RKO-

Give it a while if you still don't like it then quit but try to secure
another job before quitting this one.

i think if you hate the job you have to secure yourself first or just give a chance try it maybe you'll love it somehow dont loose the opportunity that you have right now.
