since you are asking this in television mine will be related to that and movies too.
whenever there's a scene where a guy and a girl are about to kiss for the first time,tension rises, the music's building they draw in closer to each other and BOOM the buddy character walks in and kills the moment.
I don't like it because it is beyond overused, its like a mandatory scene they legally have to add.
keep a lookout for it ,you won't be searching for long
