Never, and you can never read enough.

Yes. It becomes hard to distinguish between the good and the bad when there's so many. There's already enough great books from before the 21st century, probably more than any common reader can practically read in a lifetime. It seems like there's so many writers today that are considered good, you almost have to completely disregard them if you want to have anything but a thin knowledge of the great books from the past.

NO! There are always books that alot of people would never read and there are other books that everyone loves and there are books that only appeal to a certain few. In any case, there are really not enough books around for for all of the different types of people in the world.

There can never be too many books. There are so many wonderful books written throughout the years and with fantastic books like Eragon and King Fortis the Brave coming out, the list of great books will keep getting longer and longer. I wouldn't want it any other way!

Yes and no. Too many books that are published legitimently--no. Too many e-books--yes. While I like the accessiblity of e-books in some ways I don't like than anyone with a few hundred bucks can publish something and call themselves an author. A lot of e-books are just plain bad.

It depends on your point of view.

If you enjoy reading and go to the library and whatever bookstores you can find and also like to go to amazon.com and bookfinder.com to find those out of print books you like, then no, I don't think that there are enough books. At least...there aren't enough books that are well written.

However, if you prefer to sit and watch television instead of read then I guess there might be an intimidating amount of literature out there.

I'm leaning toward what I said about the first group, because I'm one of those bookworms.

Not if you're a reader. You want to have a wide selection out there in the world so you have something to look forward to. A book that may not interest you now, might be just right another time.

There are definitely too many that are not very good but in my opinion every book deserves to be because they all have something to say.

Otherwise yes, they are too many, and I can't read them all, and that makes me infinitely sad.

well, there has to be a lot of books to satisfy all the readers out there....each reader has their own tastes and needs about the types of books....so, no, there isn't too many books =)...the more books the better

Might be a few too many. Some of them are pretty bad. Still I love the smell of Barnes and Noble.

Would you rather be faced with choices or a lack of them?

Maybe there are just too many people who write them and too few people who read them. You being the voracious reader you are perceive differently because of your insatiable appetite for them.

Or maybe I am wrong. Maybe you are the one who reads little and is overwhelmed by the multitude of titles on the shelf.
