The lionfish requires a large salt water tank, if you are patient, you can train them to eat frozen foods rather then provide them with live shrimp, fish and other stuff since you can only buy wild-caught ones. They are fairly peaceful and will get along with anything that cannot fit in it's mouth (including other lionfish). The tank can take up to eight months to get running properly, and will be extremely costly.

Here is a care sheet.

You can mix more than one Lion Fish. Yes, they are salt water. Their spines are venomous, and getting stuck by one can cause nausea, dizziness, muscle weakness, shortness of breath, hypotension, and headaches. The common Zebra Lionfish can reach up to 7 inches. These fish are semi aggresive, and fish that are too docile or timid should not be kept with them. Their carnivores and like meaty foods.
