Carefully! Zig zag masking or duct tape across the glass first. Then cut strong cardboard the size of the glass and tape around and around if there is no wood to damage. Then pack that in another larger cardboard box. Packing tape it well. Travel on edge, not flat.

The safest way to get your glass table where it needs to go, is to crate it. Literally, build a crate around it. I used to work for a company that shipped all kinds of furniture overseas...
If you use 2x4's, 3/4" plywood, and a couple of sheets of 3/4" insulating board, it should arrive just fine. Takes a little longer than simply taping cardboard to the edges... but its much more secure. Not only will it protect the edges, but it will protect the top, from impact by other items, as the truck bounces down the highway.
Easiest way to do this... cut 2 pieces of foam board the size of your table top. Sandwich the glass between these. You can put some tape across them to hold them in place... doesnt have to be much... just enough to hold it while youre working on it.
Next, you want to put at least 2 layers of foam board along the edge...especially the bottom edge. Just cut them so their width matches the thickness of the glass and the foam panels its between. You can tape this perimeter foam to the edges, too, if you like.
Now youre ready to build your crate:
I would lay a 2x around the packed top... cut it to size if necessary, you do not want any movement inside the crate. Then, I'd cut my plywood to fit, and screw it to the lumber. At the factory, we even built 'feet' for our tall, narrow crates, so they would not topple over.
Good Luck with the move.

If you are having a commercial moving company move you are they doing the packing, too. If not it would be worth it to have them
do the packagong of the table top.. They are thr experts, even if you have to pay alittle more. If you are doing the packing yourself I would suggest that you wrap it in bubble wap and then several thick blanets or one of those egg grate foam pads that are used on beds.

You can get 2 large boxes and cut them open. tape the edges together as you tape the cardboard to the sides of your tabletop, "boxing it in". Then you'll need to make sure it rides on a blanket to avoid chipping or jiggling.

Use plastic bubble wrap. Most hardware stores carry it. It comes in rolls.
