If your iron is found to be low, I suggest taking Shaklee Iron Plus C Complex. Over 90% of females ages 12 to 50 don't get the recommended daily amount. Shaklee adds vitamin C for better iron absorption.
A friend of mine while she was pregnant was told by her dr. that her iron was low. She started taking the Shaklee Iron Plus C Complex and she felt the difference right away by feeling more energized. At her next drs. appointment, her iron was fine.

Not to worry, your physician will prescribe an iron suppliment if you need one. In the meantime, green leafy veggies contain lots of iron. You can cook 'em or eat them raw in a garden salad. But you don't need to eat tons of the stuff! And as far as the cereal goes - that's a good way to get iron in your diet too, but only one serving a day - you don't need to tank up on carbohydrates; that'd just substitute one problem for the other. Red meat is yet another food rich in iron. But trust your doctor - and be aware that almost all women of child-bearing age tend to have iron levels that are just above the level that would describe anemia. It's because of their monthly cycle.

I'm guessing you have heavy menstrual flow. I do as well, I even had to have a blood transfusion once. Have your doctor check you for VonWillebrands disease. It is a blod clotting disorder. I was diagnosed when pregnant with my second daughter. I had complained for years to know avail, and like a God send, I had to move while pregnant and told the doc my symptoms, and she knew right away what was wrong. I have had to always take iron supplements and eat as much iron rich food as I could.
Hope this helps and good luck.

If you can tolerate liver, is one of the oldest remedies for iron deficiency..Plus it gives you the extra protein that is needed to combine with the iron.
Am wondering why your doctor has not got the bleeding stopped..Do you need to seek the services of another one?

The only way to know for sure is a blood test. Call or go to your doctor and ask for a blood test to see if you have become anemic. This is what happened to me.
