Powdered blush, its easier to apply and doesnt "cake up" when you put it on.

This would really depend upon the individual's skin type. Powder blush is much more reliable for people with oily skin whereas cream blush treats dry skin to a healthy glow and some moisture, which otherwise it couldn't achieve.

I have oily skin and I use powder blush. I used to be tempted by the creamy blushes because of the availability and the various colors and textures! But I have to just remind myself that a half an hour after putting on my powder blush, my cheeks are already glowing by themselves, so I should really stick to powder blush. :-)

cream blush tends to be a little bit more buildable, natural looking and easy to control. also, it lends a great dewey look to the skin. if you don't want a cream but like the sheerness and ease in control, stains are also a great option. stains have a tendency to be more runny (except for the tarte brand, their stains are in a chubby stick and work great!) but look soft, flushed and natural. one great trick i have tried is to take a berry (blueberry, raspberry, blackberry etc) and and crush that up into a pulpy texture. then you can use the juices to stain the lips or cheeks.

i love powders, but prefer a finely milled, more buildable kind like nars or mac sheertone blushes. they look great if you use a powder brush after applying and brush out the edges; it makes the color look as though it is pushing through the skin, instead sitting on top and looking dusty. you can also layer a cream with a powder for a nighttime look, to custom blend your colors etc. be prepared to use a lot less of the powder than you normally would, because the cream underneath will grab the powder and increase the "color payoff" of the powder blush. try a cream blush like "ladyblush" from mac if you are more fair or "laid back" if you have darker skin, and blend it into the apples of your cheeks. then use a soft shimmery powder highlighter on the cheekbone. the result is polished, dewey and fresh. good luck!

I prefer cream blush. Powder blush is very easy to overdo, especially if you use a very pigmented kind (it means it has a lot of color, most department store products are pretty pigmented, pigmented makes it easier to apply and look natural, but it can sometimes be too much), whereas cream blush will fade to a natural pretty glow that stays nice. I have oily skin and I still use it (my favorite are the pout flush blushes). To prevent cream blush from looking clown like, dab a bit on your index finger and warm it up by rubbing it between your thump and index finger so it will blend easier into your skin. Hope you try this and it helps!

As a general rule-powder blush is better for "younger skin" Women with fine lines ans small wrinkles should use cream blush, as the powder will settle into the fine lines and make them more obvious.

Cream blush is nice that it's easy to blend, but I prefer powdered because I think I have more control on how much goes on.

Cream blush clogs the pores more than powdered blush. If you use cream blush, get it in a tube so you can squeeze it out instead, so there's no contamination.

Both...if you dab a little cream blush where you want it and blend it well; and then dust a little powder blush on top of it (and blend again)...and then place a cold damp face cloth over it for a couple of seconds...it will look very natural...and stay there all day!

i used to wear straight powder kind, but now i have come to love the cream mousse blushes. They go on so easily and gives you face this soft pretty glow. You should at least try it out and im sure you would agree.
