would be some good a good career for someone that isnt much of a people person? And please dont suggest nursing, I have no desire to do that. I would like maybe something I could do on the computer from home or something that I could not have a whole lot of people intervention throughout the day. I work well on my own and am self motivated,,,please give me some ideas! oh yea, are online training jobs worth it?

being 39 and not knowing what you want doesnt mean you dont have drive. It may mean that you have been tossed into a situation of having to get back out into the work place and have no idea of what is out there! Im not looking simply for a check, Im looking for a change of life, a better way to raise my 3 babies.

Thirty-nine is a great age to go back to school. Any age is great, if you are motivated and know what you want to do.
Sounds as though you might need a little career counselling first, however. Have you ever taken an aptitude test, to find out what you would likely do best? This isn't a test that scores anything, but rather that analyses the way you think, the way you react to different situations, how well you work with other people, whether you would do better in technical types of jobs, statistical types of work, or whatever. It could be a good investment for you.
And if you aren't enthusiastic about being around people, there are on-line universities, but you'd want to check into them first to make sure their credentials are worth while.
You might want to start a small accounting business from your home, or get training as a tax consultant or??? Think about that aptitude test, however, and find out where your best options are.
Good luck to you!

In this day and age, technology careers are in abundance. However, there aren't very many positions you will be considered for, if you don't want to apply yourself. Corporations are looking for people who show true dedication and truly take their positions seriously. Noone wants someone representing their firm/company who simply shows up, at some point, to collect a check. Life isn't that simple. Just going to school takes committment and dedication. If you are 39 and still have trouble deciding on a career, that shows lack of drive.

be an accountant--I live in NC and my accountant is in FL. I see him once a year and sometimes we do most of the stuff online or over the phone.
