Well, first of all, if you're not sexually active ( I don't know your age or personal history) then you know that you are not pregnant. It is normal for a girl to skip a period after she has gotten her first one. My niece had 2 and skipped the next one, my daughter had 4 and skipped 1. (I don't remember myself, too old) If your next few periods aren't regular, (like 4 to six in a row) Then you need to see a doctor. My sister was irregular. Her's were sparatic. She would have one, and then she wouldn't have another one for about 3 months, and thay would last sometimes, 3 to 4 weeks. That would scare me! Just remeber that if you get excited about something, like a trip, dance, anything that would cause you excitement, it can bring your period on faster, like a few days early. If you get upset, or nerves, like a death, or major tragedy, it will sometimes cause it to be late. Study up on the subject. Depression is another cause to miss. Your weight can have something to do with it too. If your really underweight, it can stop completely.

If this is the first year, don't worry.
It will take time so that your body gets used to a schedule.
My sisters got their period for 2 months in a row and then skipped like 4 months and so on and so forth.
Completely normal =)

calm down. u should at least talk to an older sibling, or talk to a friend even. and when u first get ur pewriod, it isnt really regular for 1-2 years. its normal, or at least ok, to skip a month or two when u first get ur period. but, if u dont get it in the next month or too, u will need to ask ur mom to take u to see a doctor.
good luck!

There is nothing BUT normal in this situation. Infact the people who just started there period and have not skipped yet is a problem. I started last year in dec. and i never started again since until this month! (yes i started extremley late for my age. Thanks mom! lol) If you are in alot of sports or are extremely active it can lead to that. There is nothing wrong. Your body is just adjusting to this change. But lemme tell you....when you start again......it will make up for alll those months you skipped! lol so be prepared for the most blood you have had yet. lol . dont worry EVERY girl in my class has had that happened to them. I saw a doctor for that and he laughed and said there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

I wouldnt worry to much about it to be honest.Seeing as how you just got your first period it will take some time to actually have them "regular".Irregular periods are completely normal.Dont stress over it,wait and see if it comes.Another thing,do not fear talking to your mother about these female problems. She has been there and she understands.
If you are sexually active and think there is a possibility of pregnancy get an at home test and take it.Either way talk to your mom.

It might take a while to get on a regular schedule with this "monthly" business, so don't stress out about it (which could be a cause for the delay). You could talk it over with an adult woman (a teacher, coach, your friend's mother). Planned Parenthood could be an excellent place for you to get checked out to make sure physically everything is as it should be and they can counsel you on how you can talk with your mother about these things. She might really want to be there for you.

here is a good website to go to www.beinggirl.com it will explain everything about your period and other things you need or want to know and if you have any other questons you can ask iris and she will email you back.and it's okay if you missed your period it will take 1 or even 2 years to get regular and on the website you can get free samples of pads and tampons mailed to your house.

okay ...dont worry its COMPLETLEY natural for u to skip this happens mostly when u just started a few months ago . this can go on more than a year because of u just starting there is no need to talk to your mom because she will tell u what i am telling u now , just dont worry its natural its just because your body isnt used to the changes yet

Its usual for your periods to be irregular when you first start. Mine was fore a year or two before they got regular. You have nothing to worry about. Unless there is a chance of pregnancy
