Due to USPAP (the professional ethics that appraisers are required by law to follow), appraisals and any information contained within the appraisal (including value) are to be kept stictly confidential. The only individual/entity that an appraiser can disclose this information to is their client and only their client. Therefore, there is no site that actually gives appraised values of homes. There are some sites that give a general estimate of what the property *might* be worth, but these are *not* appraised values.

Also, the amount due on a mortgage would be information that would be obtained from the lending institution *if* you had a right to this information (i.e. you are the borrower). However, like appraisal results, the amount due on a mortgage is confidential information. No web site will report the actual amount due on a mortgage.

It honestly sounds like you ran across a foreclosure search engine...these sites sometimes provide an estimate of potential market value and an estimate of what is due on the mortgage.

Some foreclosure websites include:

In Texas, the local County Appraisal District Office has ownership and appraisal values for all property in that county. Some counties have data available on-line. Andy

Go to your local Court House. (Call first for precise directions for right department.) They have all the records there in the Real Estate transfer department. There are usually computers where you put in the address, and up pops the owner, when purchased, etc, how much prop was sold for, all info. and free, but you have to make the trip down, unless, (big unless) you get a kind clerk on the phone who will even look up the information for you. Really easy, once you call for info. At the Court House.
