Actually, since all insects have six legs I do know a lot of insects with red and black ringed body.

No they are a type of beetle, we get them in Wa, we got them in Nv, and we got them in Ca. They are every where. All I have been able to find out is that they are a beetle like I said and that no matter how many you kill they will never go away. I must say that they are very good at eating other bugs and they are great for your garden also and they don't come inside often, they really seem to like the outdoors. They are a big pain and not very cute either but don't harm much, let them be and they will be gone by Sept or so.

earwig they all over this year, very wet or wet. use dish soap mix with water an spray they kill them
