even if you were already planning to do that task yourself?

I would stick with the original plan that was conceived before my enemies got involved. Maybe my enemies are trying a little reverse psychology to stop me from doing what I wanted to do. I wouldn't let my enemies influence my decision one way or another. I make my own decisions.

If they were holding a gun to my head I might. But if there were no coersion involved, then what they say wouldn't really have much if any bearing on me. I figure, if you refuse to do something for the sole reason that an enemy is telling you to do it, then you are letting the enemy define your actions just the same as if you obeyed them.

In either explicitly doing, or refusing to do, something that your enemy tells you to do, either way it is your enemy that is controlling your decision-making process.

Woah...you a deep dark thinker? I don't have the confrontational thoughts in me. I suppose as happy and light hearted as I am there are those who are just as dark and unhappy. Whose to say what lurks in the heart of men. No...I wouldn't do what my enemies asked. I don't even know if I have enemies. If I do, I don't know who they are. Different lifetime maybe within this life that is when I was younger and more angry. Getting old usually either lightens you up or makes you bitter. I am light. Thank God, cause those who are bitter do not look happy (Strange though, my significant other is kinda bitter, you know scratches his @ss and mumbles profanities. It just makes me laugh and roll my eyes.)

If I had a course of action, activities or thought already planned, I wouldn't let my enemies influence me one way or the other.

First off, I'd like to think I don't have any enemies. But if I did, the stubborn side of me would not do it because then the enemy would think they succeeded in making me do it. But, the independent "F" you side of me would do it for myself since I was already planning to do it.

If your enemies, and not just AN enemy, are all asking you the same thing at the same time, I think you better do it else risk getting beaten to a pulp.

That would depend entirely on what they were asking me to do. I would look at the two as seperate acts: doing something someone asks me to do and the enemy. I wouldn't not do it based solely on the fact that the suggestion came from someone I deemed my enemy.

Sometimes you have to turn back, then run with full momentum and create an impact. So some times it is advisable, while most of the time you may be right so do not allow any thing to influence yourself.

If pride gives you pause then perhaps you should rethink what makes you better than your enemies. What nust be done must be done, even if it means proving your enemies right. Without conviction man is worthless.

Dear Mr. Philosopher:

Most of us here don't have full fledged enemies sneaking around in their lives. Could I replace 'enemy' with mother-in-law, spouse, or "that annoying person next door"?
