I think us Filipinos even use take care to people we just met. We say "ingat ka" (take care) when parting with someone, whether it be a loved one or someone we barely know... It's a very common expression but of course it differs in "depth" depending on who you say it too... loved one = you really mean it! Take care!; acquaintance = you sorta mean it but it's more of just an expression rather than a heartfelt wish for the person's safety... but then again, that's just me. But, if you say "Ingat ka" to your enemy, it's pretty much a threat or implying that you are planning to hurt your enemy... Hehehe...
