Everyone strives for attention, and wants to feel wanted. Sometimes, when it doesn't come from the right sources, people search for it anywhere they can find it. The sad part is, it can reach the point where it doesn't matter if it's good or bad attention... just so it's attention. Whether it's a guy or a girl, the base motive is still the reason. Trying to fit in, popularity, and a need to feel accepted or wanted.

If you're talking about prostitutes on most city streets, frequently they're run-aways from abusive (physically and/or sexually) homes who feel they have no choice but to go out on their own. They can't get jobs so end up living on the street. Eventually some guy finds them and treats them well. Then he hooks them on drugs and sends them back out on the street to make money for him. The girls (and yes, sometimes boys) get no pleasure from having sex with their customers. They need the money to pay their pimps and buy the drugs they need to make it through one more day. They get AIDS or other venereal disease and die. But since they've been taught from a young age that they are basically worthless, they accept that life as what they are due.
If you're talking about your school mates who sleep around, they're probably from abusive homes too, and trying to find someone who will love them. They don't think they're worth much, so will settle for sex instead. They get AIDS or other venereal disease and die. But since they've been taught from a young age that they are basically worthless, they accept that life as what they are due.
No female becomes a whore because she thinks she's wonderful and deserves only the best.

this was explained to me by a young lady just the other day. supposedly it's curiosity, the way someone new or different touches you, and it's a new experiece. unfortunately some people have too many experiences in accordance with social norms...or something like that.....i don't think i explained that how i planned.
