Realplayer all the way. But it takes a while to get the the songs. I find MP3 rocket + realplayer works excellently.

First of all, i don't know what an ME is, I have an XP so I don't know if I'll be much help, but I just got an iPod nano and the CD that came with it downloaded iTunes to my comupter automatically, even though I already had it. Which kinda sucked because all my music was taken off my old iTunes, hope that helped

the only way for you to download songs into your ipod is by using itunes. call apple and ask them if there is an alternative . Call 1-800-275-2273 for technical assistance.

I am not sure that you can realistically use an iPod without iTunes. I would recommend upgrading to Windows XP.

my advice:

ditch the ME and get XP. i'm sorry, but lots of problems disappear from that! it's all worth it in the long run. ;)
