Gwen Stacy. If the Green Goblin didn't kill her (issues 121-122 in Amazing Spider-man volume 1) Peter might have married her. Her death issue was considered the comic that marked the end of silver age comics to the new, darker bronze age in comics. They 'cloned' her, but you know it wasn't really HER, so she never truly came back. It was recently known that she had twins with Norman Osborn, and he wanted to raise the children to become 'goblins', but she disagreed and threatened to tell Peter about them, and have Peter raise them as their father and that's why he killed her. A strange thing is that there's a mystery about her death. When exactly did she die? She appeared to be unconscious on top a bridge that the Green Goblin took her, but when he and Spider-man began to fight, he threw her off the bridge, and in an attempt to save her he shot out a web and caught her. then when he pulled her up...She was dead. On the panel where Spider-man catches her, there was a snap sound. For a while fans speculated whether the Green Goblin killed her before she fell...or Spider-man accidently snapped her neck. Finally writers said that Spider-man indeed accidently killed her, there was a whiplash effect and the sudden stop of the fall snapped her neck, instantly killing her...

Betty Brant, J. Jonah Jameson's secretary. However, things didn't work out, then, there was Gwen Stacey, who died. Then there was Mary Jane, the rest is history.

well in the comics she was taken by sandman or something, but in the movies she is married to peter now and they live in an apartment.
the only other love interrest for peter that we know of is catwoman in the comics, and that daughter of the guy who owns the apartments in second movie, in the movies
