truck drivers dont ride people bumpers most of the time these happen when an idiot like you cuts them off
them u have to hit your brakes and where u think the truck is going to go??
and yes i know there are some bad truck drivers out there but if they get on your bumper all u have to do is change lanes or speed up duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
and who is this "we" you are talking about??
and by the way this quote "we think that you can stop on a dime when you decide to drive up on our bumpers." is wrong
if a truck was not on your bumper than it still cant stop on a dime

I am a truck driver and a heavy truck mechanic. a loaded 18 wheeler takes almost 380' too stop at 70mph most truck accedents happen from ppl in cars not paying atittion to ther driveing habbits like speed getting on and off the road. I had a young person try too make a right turn when i was making a right turn also from the same lane the only good thing about this is there was a police officer on a motorcycle 2 cars behind them and he seen the accident happen when i stoped i had the trailer axels parked on the hood of there mazda 626 prety funny... ppl just need to watch what there doing. most road trucks will not run over 72mph after the owning company has the engine speed adjusted.

Well, please don't lash out at me, as I always follow at a safe distance. But the truth is: NTSB, and DOT, etc all got together and did a study on the causes of Truck/Car accidents. Do you know what they discovered? 85% of them are caused by something the car driver did. The number 1 cause? Cars cutting off a truck. This is why in the state of WA. They've made it against the law for a "4wheeler" to pull in front of a truck without sufficient stopping distance. And what a non-commercial driver considers a safe distance bears little resemblance to what the truck needs.
It may be that you've had bad luck with aggressive truckers, or it may be that you tend to drive slowly. Or it may be that you cut off a trucker without realizing you'd not given him enough room. (or with knowing it, and are outraged that someone got pissed at agressive driving.)
Thing is, driving a truck; we know we're likely to walk away from a rear-ender, and you're not. This means that the dude tailgating you is pissed about SOMETHING. And no offense, but the snide tone of the question suggests that it's not the trucker who's the problem.

Hey buddy why don't you try driving a semi once. There are a lot of idiots out there who are to damn busy talking on there cell phone to pay attention. Or the cut trucks off and wonder why they are on their bumpers. And just remember who brings all the stuff to all the stores. Imagine if truckers went on strike, everyone would be SOL. My husband is a truck driver and works damn hard, long hours and not great pay. Give them a brake.
You said it smcin728. I spent a week in the truck with my hubby. It is unbelievable the idiots out there.

Could it be that you are in the passing lane going down hill and there is 80,000 lbs of big rig with all that inertia barreling down on your bumper and you are too stupid to get out of their way? Could it be that you were at a stop sign and saw a big rig coming and thought, oh its slow, I'll pull out in front of it, when you should have been thinking, oh its heavy, IT CAN'T STOP ON A DIME! And suddenly there he is on your dumb a**? Give it some thought before you ask another stupid question.

Look , follow the common sense rules genious:1-don't drive slow in the fast lane ,especially in hiily terain.Trucks need the momentum of increased speed down hill ,plus uphill get the hell out of the way so they can carry this gained momentum up. 2-don't forget that you're 3000lb car can't compete with a 55000lb 18 wheeler. Also , please don't forget these men and women aren't driving around for the fun of it.They have families!!!You know wives, children ,fathers, mothers,etc.....So , don't judge an entire occupation by the actions of 1 trucker out of 100 you see every day.Odds are 99 of them are just hard workers trying to make a living delivering your crap you buy everyday.

Yes I am Truck Driver.
My advice you would be. Even if you are right,Don't be DEAD right.
Even if you are right and he is a total A** just move and go on your business.
And one other thing a Truck will not stop on a dime, but you and you car may be as flat as one if you get hit. this goes back to the first thing about being DEAD right.
Drive safe

truck driver road rage...they generaly don't do that to me...but I don't cut them off either...I know what it's like to drive something that heavy and I give them lots of room. you should do the same.
BTW-I drive a tow truck now and I've got to say that when I'm on the interstate to help someone (with every kind of safety flasher I've got going on the truck) you people going 80+mph don't move over with your 3000lb car thats 12ft long, meanwhile, every trucker that possibly can moves his 80,000lb, 70ft long truck to the other lane and avoid killing me! get a clue people!!
