It is very difficult for the elderly to move sometimes. Just getting their knee to go over the tub might be an act of torture for them.
Have some compassion.

That isn't the case for all elderly people. Many of them need assistance with their daily hygiene care because they aren't able to take care of themselves completely anymore. If no one comes to help them then what are they supposed to do? Also, some people have medical problems which may cause them to smell a certain way or leave them unable to control when they go to the bathroom. So there are many reasons about why but it's not nice to call an elderly person smelly.

every one gets smelly fast special when sweating allot,some older people don't use anything under the arms and that's the first part that starts to smell first,plus some have a hard time moving around so they need help from someone,and some are just a little lazy,because there's somethings that some of them can use,Ive seen allot of young and older people that can do something about that and don't,but back to the question,why do old people are smelly.the older we get the faster the our bodies starts to smell and thats how it is.

You'll find out some day when you get to a certain age.
Older people sometimes have trouble moving about and it can be difficult to get them thoroughly bathed. If a person is in a wheelchair, they usually have to resort to having a sponge bath (basin of water, instead of getting into a tub.)
Having a real bath in a tub is the best way to get clean, but a sponge bath often has to suffice.

Rude question. But most people smell differently from each other depending on what they eat. Eat alot of spicy food and your skin will start to give off spicy order that won't wash off.
try gettng your self compelty clean when you are in a full body cast. thats what alot of older people feel like when they try and take a bath by themselves and can't reach all spots or remember to do it.

You no that is really rude, you are going to be old someday. I am a nurse and take care of Alzheimer's patients everyday. And they are wonderful people.
