"Wind Beneath My Wings" is so cheesy. I would want people to put more thought into the song if they were serious about appreciating teachers. "Too Much Rain" by Paul McCartney has a classic feel to it (it is by Sir Paul, afterall) but is a newer song that most people don't know. It's about the ups and downs of life (at least that's what I gather from it), which is certainly what teaching is all about. Sometimes it's overwhelming, and sometimes it's perfect. "Thankful" by Kelly Clarkson is a really cute and modern song to use.

I agree with the other that said Wind Benath my Wings for a serious one.
I teach kinder and I have always loved "Put a Smile on Your Face" by Vitamin C. It talks about making the world a better place, doing the right thing- I play it for my kids sometimes- it has a little rapping to it- the kids love it. Ok so maybe that is better for the kids. Stick with the first one :)

Just kidding, I am a teacher.
There are many songs that can be sung on a teacher's day. My choice would be "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS" (Queen).
