Just contact the Department of Corrections Upstate, and inquire about their visiting dress code. Are you visiting? About to become employed there? Or getting ready to be inducted into the facility? You really didn't specifiy, so do not be offended. Just trying to help.

I don't know about upstate, I live in Texas. But check out www.prisontalk.com This website has every thing imaginable about the justice system. And everyone on there is very friendly and happy to help you out.

If you're going to visit someone, I'd suggest you probably dress kinda modestly. The catcalls and verbal abuse just isn't worth it sometimes.
