I hear it everywhere.TV,celebs,etc.Is it the most popular DVR everyone uses today?

Tivo is the most popular. it allows you to record single shows or an entire season of a show. You can pause live TV. So when your wife or girl friend needs to talk to U during the big game, U can pause and/or rewind live TV to see what U missed after U give them your full attention. Women who want their mates to be more attentive, should be running out and buying these for their boy friends and husbands.

TiVo is so popular because its has improved many people's lives, including my own. The interface is simple and elegant, making it almost trivial to record a single show or a season pass. No one in my family ever worries about when a show is on. When, we do have time to watch something, we watch what we want and without commericials.
TiVo is also much more than a DVR. I use my TiVo to show my Yahoo! photos, transfer shows to my laptop, and search for movies in a particular genre.
There are many DVR's available today, but there's only one TiVo. Like Apple, TiVo has established a brand and interface that people will remember (positively) for as long as they help bring about the change in digital media.

It has some good features and it's user friendly. The only drawback is that it doesn't record HD broadcasts unless you have DirectTV. HD Tivo will be out this Fall. I have a basic DVR that is offered through my digital cable which records HD stations. Will be switching to Tivo HD when it comes out.

because you can watch what you want to when you want to. You control your tv instead of your tv controlling you. TiVo was the original so you hear more about it.

just watching tv at friends its hard not to be able to just fast forward to what we want to watch instead of watching commercials, or pause while normal tv would miss out on whats happening no tapes to deal w ith unless u record them to the vcr but having one and watching tv elsewhere major difference and being able to just watch the prog when i want to watch it helps if you go away vacation you can find prog to record up to 14-16 days so u wont miss out and schl for show to record any time its on no matter if chnl or time has chngd also can search w title actor key words lots of fun and saves time and money

It's popular because people have really busy schedules and don't have time to watch their favored television shows the time they air.

If you have ever used one, you would not ask that question. People (such as myself) who have them cannot watch TV without them.
