Where is the identification plate, or is there another way to tell.

It should be the tenth digit on the vin plate. Example YFM1A345832455489, would be a 2003. Also the date mfg., will sometimes have the year on it example MODEL2003.

Yamaha quads have their vin # on the left frame rail near the foot peg.

should be a vin on the left side of the frame. write down that number and call a dealer. they can help
