Honestly, most professional tattoo artists will not perform a tattoo on any minor, even with parental consent, so you probably have another 2 years to pick and settle on a design.

Some people say it hurts a lot, but others don't feel much at all. Pain is relative and we all exerpience it differently. A tattoo is having anywhere from 3-7 needles inserted and removed from your skin 100's of times per second, there is usually some level of pain involved. I thought my lower back tat was fine, except the middle right on my spine. It was certainly not unbearable though.

My friend got her tattoo there and she said it wasn't painful getting it done, but afterwords it was painful. Are you sure you really want a tattoo? It is permanent. The only reason I ask is, I'm 21 now and some of the things that I liked at 16 I think are horrible now so I'm just picking your brain to make sure its what YOU want. What types of ideas do you have for your tattoo design?

You may have a problem getting the tattoo because of your age. Majority of places you have to be 18 or with parental consent.

Make sure it is what you want. I would wait until you are 18 and if you still want the same design, go for it.

It does hurt!!! especially in the lower part and on the sides. But it is worth it, i would do it again! Plus the next day is going to be ok!!!
Only one suggestion: think and think again! It is more painful to remove it than having it done! So think about it, because it's going to be with you for the rest of your life!

Please don't get it there. One day, you may want an epidural during childbirth and many anaethetists refuse to give it to you if you have a tattoo on your lower back.

You're only 16, so it may sound like eons away, but believe me if the time comes for you and you want an epidural and can't have one you won't be happy!!!

no it doesn't hurt it hard to describe the feeling of having a tattoo. If you get one though you will get more done. 1 Thing that my tattooist told me was when you have them done get something that you want to spend your life time looking at. I had my first done when i was 16 i did talk it over with my mum for my first one

everyone has their own idea of pain, so it's hard to say if you would think it was painful. your state of mind has a lot to do with it as well. i have a tattoo on my lower back as well as a few others the best way i can desribe it, it feels like someone is drawing on your back with a razor blade...in a good way. it's hard to explain.

i have got one on my lower back, and it wasnt too bad except in certain places, i had mine really low so its on the bone, if you have it a bit higher it wont be too bad, you get a beautiful picture at the end so its always worth it, ive got 8 tattoos and still tempted to get more ..so it cant be that bad ..most people go back for more

How the hell would seany know how painful it is to give birth!?! What a dumbass thing for a guy to say! The tatoo does hurt, but it is bearable. But you better make sure you really want it, because the lazer they use to remove them hurts even worse!
