Others have already mentioned some reasons ... spinning objects subject to internal gravity such as planets form a slightly flattened spherical shape ... a sphere has the highest ratio of volume to surface area ... related to the above, the sphere is the lowest potential energy state for a given volume.
But here's something else we see around us all the time: the effects of erosion. Given enough time, mountaintops become rounded. A pile of dirt or a pile of garbage dumped by a truck will get rounded off and sort of flattened out in time. This is natural. Sharp points, sharp corners, and sharp edges get rounded off by weather.
Many things are rounded off intentionally. A curve on a highway is rounded so you can negotiate it at higher speeds. (If it's a sharp corner, you have to slow way down and turn.) The mouse at your computer is rounded so it doesn't irritate the palm of your hand. (How would you like a square mouse?)
Tires are round so they'll roll. All sorts of balls are round so they'll roll, bounce, or fly through the air better. (But ballistic missiles, footballs, spears, and bullets spin along an axis as they fly through the air.) Golf balls have dimples spread over their round shape to make them fly farther.
Last thought ... some of this has to do with symmetry. A round or spherical object is symmetrical about all axes passing through its center. To bounce a basketball, it doesn't matter which part of the ball hits the floor. But to bounce a less-symmetric football, you have to make it hit the floor just the right way.
I could probably think of some more examples, but this is enough.

Round objects are the best conserves of space and as such the least amount of energy to maintain. This means objects over time naturally try to obtain a lower energy state and that state is round. Planets, stars, and other spacial objects are round because the equilibrium of force over pressure forces the object into a round shape (though most take on a slight oval shape do to stellar body spin).

this makes circular things form naturally in many cases (like a bubble, or the earth)
and circular things have advantages such as lower heat loss, because of the same ratio
that means natural selection, or design, makes many biological things roughly (although rarely completely) circular in order to work better (like a spherical egg is stronger than a cylindrical egg would be)

Wait how can you consider round objects the best conversers of space??? Think about a room full of basketballs or a room full of boxes. clearly you have tons of wasted space inbetween the basketballs. I'm sorry this doesn't answer the initial question I just didn't understand that explanation, I'm open to your logic if you'd like to rebuttle.
