My husband had that done about a year ago. he was fully recovered in 2 weeks. It hurt like h*ll the first couple of days. He woke up like clock work when it was time to take another pain pill. it might not be so bad for you though, my husband got his hernia in may and didn't get the operation until september (that's a man for you though, they don't listen even to doctors) don't fret about it. almost everyone has some sort of operation in their lifetime.

You are going to hurt afterward, basically because they have to cut on you. You are looking at about 10 days of discomfort especially the first 3-5 days. You will get some pain meds to decrease the pain. You will be limited in lifting for a certain amount of weeks... This is determined by your surgeon. You will get better quickly as you are young........ You'll feel funny from the anesthesia, you may even feel nauseaseous... but it should go away within 24 hours.

The operation its self does not hurt. The recovery will some but after a few days you will be off the meds and recovering. It took me two weeks to recover because they had to cut me open because of old prior surgery. But do it you be better off in the long run.

Not right away, you will be very drowsy at first, and ahve alot of medicine through your veins.

But you will wake up feelng very sore, and you should relax, and chill out until your body relaxes. Try not to walk around, or lift anything even slightly heavy.
