Kemah TX is between Houston and Galveston TX. The Kemah boardwalk is a very popular spot for tourists and locals. It has a great hotel, a good assortment of restaurants, Ferris wheel, carnival games and lots of boutique shops. There is a play area for small children complete with water features and a train that circles the entire complex. There is a walking path where you can watch the shrimp boats come in. Many of the restaurants have outdoor seating where you can enjoy your dinner and people watch. Very popular is the "Rock the Dock" concert series that has local bands playing shows outside. People bring their lawn chairs, blankets, etc and have a great time. There is trick or-treating during October for the kids. Generally the first Saturday in Dec. everyone can come out and watch the Christmas Boat Parade. The shrimp boats and yachts are all decorated with lights and characters and put on a wonderful display. What the boardwalk doesn't have is a beach. The boardwalk is located on Galveston Bay very close to the Marina. There have been plans for several years to build a boardwalk attraction on Galveston Island, but so far no development.
