I got married almost 10 years ago in the Dominican Republic and I recently read a story of a couple who married there and just found out that their marriage isn't legal outside of the Dominican Republic. How would I find out if my marriage is legal here (I live in the UK)?

Go to the local court house, with the marriage certificate. Most likely it is valid just not legally recgonized in the UK..like a marriage liscene in Maine is only good in Maine but recgnizable in maine. you can go to another country, it is recgnizable but maybe not be legal. try and ask. u might have to get re married
