I just broke down-
I was speeding up and I had to hit the breaks suddenly because a car pulled up in front of me. When I slowed down, the RPM's stayed high and the car (under the hood) was being really loud. I went home because I was afraid to stop it and when I got home and turned it off, it stalled. I can turn it on again but when I put it into gear, it stalls. Does this mean my transmission is messed up? Is that expensive? Do you think I will have to get a whole new one or maybe it can be repaired? Do you suggest I go to a Chrysler Dealership or a repair shop? Please help! Thank you

check the trans fluid while car is running @ normal operating temps. when a trans does not go into gear as soon as you put it in gear most likely low fluid condition check that first if is ok then you have some serious problems to look into

Contact your local dealer and ask to talk to the service manager. Tell him that you were told that your computer is on national back order and ask him if there is any truth to that statement. Also contact their parts department to confirm cost and availability. In my experience, over 75% of those computers that are replaced are due to miss diagnosis. When the computer that was removed from the vehicle is checked at the factory, 75 out of a hundred are found to have no defect. If your vehicle is having a real problem with computers, the dealership will know about it and be able to explain the nature of the problem.
