You know, thats a good question, I originally went looking fot this category under Family and Relationships and couldn't find it for days. But you know, it being under Society and Culture makes sense to me too, because of the ongoing battle in the modern society over whether to accept gays, bi's, Trans, Lesbians, ect ... or to extinguish them.

I'm guessing because, for the most part, these are considered lifestyles and until we as a country approve of gay and lesbian marriage, then technically it won't be considered "family".. but it definitely should be under relationships.

I don't know. Maybe you should contact Yahoo! Perhaps because Transgendered is not a type of relationship. And they felt the need to lump those all into one category. So it wouldn't fit in family or relationships. That's my guess.

I think it's probably because this is meant as a place to discuss the politics and social aspects of it. You can ask relationship questions in the Family & Relationship category without having to be separated by sexuality.

good question. I had a really hard time finding it. It makes it harder for gay and lesbian individuals to find because they think of their orientation as something to do with relationships, but many heterosexual people think of the LGBT community as a society that is completely separate from theirs.

Because we are hott! Straights have to share all their topics. They all run together...the real question is...why are the hateful straights, not all, aloud in? : ) But seriously...you know that if yahoo didnt do it like this...How many gays would be screamin and hollerin cuz they dont have anywhere to ask questions and chat.

Let's rename them "Family" and "Society, Culture and Relationships". That will fix it.

We are a culture, and not all gay people have families.
