Dermatologists are medical doctors specializing in care, conditions and diseases of the skin.
Since dermatology is generally a pay-for-service or private insurance reimbursable practice they make a great deal of money; $200k + in major metro areas. They also have a GREAT lifestyle since they are rarely on call (forced to work or answer calls after hours).

They are skin doctors. They work on skin problems of all sorts, including burn victims and skin cancer. Salary ranges depending on whether they work for a clinic, or own their own clinic, as well as where they live.

I don't know the salary, but they deal with things like skin cancer, non-cancerous moles, rashes and dermatitis, acne, and sometimes electrolysis and laser hair removal. With skin cancer, they biopsy and diagnose, but if it is cancer, the refer you to a surgical oncologist.
