Okay I have a ten year old son and he is starting purberty. I have noticed the voice cracking and hairy legs. He has told me has hair in other places. A few weeks ago when I went to wake him up, he sleeps in boxers, I noticed more then he was "up". Now I notice him grabbing at his groin more and if he streches while sitting next to me on the couch or if he gets up to go to the bathroom I notice a tent in his pants. I mean How can I not he walks right past me into the bathroom. I think I should just leave it alone and not say anything to him unless he says something to me. My question is what should I say to him if he asks, I think it might be embrassing for both of us. Should I refer him to my dad his granddad? His dad is not much of a dad to talk to. And if he doesn't bring it up should I just let it go? I appericate the help.

As for his father he has not seen him in over a year and besides my son he has another with some other girl and a third on the way with yet another I am kind of scared to have him talk to him about anything to do with sex. When he did try to talk to his dad about other things he usually just nods his head and doesn't say much. So I don't expect much help there.

Wow...This is difficult. Um, do know of any male that he's close to? You might want to go to that person and ask him for some help on this. Sorry if this doesn't help much. I don't really know how to deal with these kind of things.

I think this is fairly normal behavior . I would say nothing for the moment and be there for him if he wants to talk about it . As for his father discuss it with him he might just surprise you

this up that you are describing is what is called an erection, and is the cause of his "tenting". this is a normal occurance in males after a certain age. he is not sick, and you neednt see a doctor about it. if you want to rid him of this "tenting", kick him between the legs.

i dont have kids, but i am one. dont bring it up. when they are young like that it happens out of no where. he probly isnt 'excited' or anything. my bf would tell me how he used to get so embarassed cause it would happen at school sometimes! it should go away soon, but its just something that happens

well he is one of my younger peer's. when i was his age i had to watch a movie about that. so he is to the age where he is starting to figure this stuff out. dont come out in the open. he is seeing what it feel's like, don't worry it's normal.
