Think about it. All the negative energy about Iraq and all attaches itself to Bush rather than his party. Bush goes off to write his memoirs and takes his stigma with him in 2008, but Rove gets a new boss and a fresh start.

He's just shooting for a spot in The Guinness Book Of World Records. Rove is orchestrating the record for Lowest Approval Rating and Least Popular War.

An intriguing idea, but it doesn't add up. How does Bush leaving in shame add to Rove's legacy. Sure Rove still could take someone else to the White House, but the fact that Bush leaves in shame only makes Rove less attractive.

Rove is considered to be an integral part of the Bush's decision making team. If the team's legacy stinks, nobody in their right mind would want to include Rove in their decision making team. Thus Rove is hurt when Bush leaves in shame.

I don't think so, although I think you're right that the Republican party will be trying to put as much distance between itself and the Bush administration as possible. Rove might have a future doing low profile work with the RNC but even if another Republican takes the White House I doubt you'll see him there in a formal capacity. He's too close to it all.

the older i get, the more cynical i become. i truly believe that by the time a politician can become president he has kissed the butt of so many interest groups to get votes that the line that once was drawn between what he believes in and what he does has been eliminated. bush received some bad advice at some point and now is just along for the ride.

it's a great question. but this congress is attached at the hip to this pesidency. rove might have some plan to change the story, but i still think he and some number of republican representatives and senators will be held to account by the voters this election cycle. and i think that the 'rovian' political landscape is all but spent. i don't see him surviving beyond this president. at least no candidate that i can think of would dare publicize the fact that carl has signed onto their campaign.....

Bush bashing is part of the logic of the universe

The conservatives are flipflopping and after voting for and kissing bush's racist **** are now trying to disassociate from his murderous regime. Alas, too late
