Try changing out the fuel filter, if this fails to help check spark and all those good things however if it is running it might not be a fuel problem. Is the engine a 2.8 or 3.8 or did you get lucky and score a 4.3?

How long has it been since you checked or replaced the fuel filter? That is one of the most usual causes of fuel feed problems.

It it is fuel injected....You could have a bad fuel pressure regulator that is sending all of your good fuel pressure back to the tank. But i would definititely recommend that you replace the fuel filter first....

I'll be willing to bet anything,,,,your problem is the oxygen sensor,,,,I've owned 2 s-10's,,,an '88 and an '89,,,,,both trucks came across the same issue,,,it runs like a blocked fuel line,,,,,DEFINATELY,,,O2 sensor !!!!!!!!!!(assuming you've checked your fuel lines)

At his point - for a Chevy of that vintage - it's probably major engine wear and compression issues.
