There were three ships built; Titanic, Brittanic and the olympus

Ok i'm not some expert I only saw a documentary about it, but i was equally shocked. The brittanic was just as impressive as the titanic, but i don't thik it made it as a luxury passenger ship, when WW1 started it was needed for military serice and was converted into a medical ship with a big red cross on it! The ship sank when it struck a mine (I think thats confirmed) in the mediterranean sea, there were far less casulaities as the water was warm not freezing as in the case of titanic. The Olympus I gather was decomissioned in the ship yard and sold as scrap after this probably because the white star line company had aquired such a bad image that its last boat had no chance of doing business.

Yes, there was the Titanic and her sister ship the Britannic. The Titanic sunk in April of 1912 as you already know. The Britannic was launched on February 26, 1914. She became a hospital ship during WWI. On a trip from Salonika on November 21, 1916, as she was steaming through the Kea Channel in the Aegean, the Britannic was rocked by a huge explosion and quickly began to sink. In one hour she was gone. Luckily, only 33 out of the 1,100 on board died. She is believed to have struck a mine but may have been torpedoed.

I do know some information about the titanic, more then my friends, but maybe not alot compared to you. The titanic and her sisters have always fascinated me for some reason. Did you know that right after the titanic sank her sister ship, the olympus, was brought into port immeidately to change the dividers that prevented the boat from sinking if it was struck. Almost all modern ships are made this way now!

Yes, there were they were the sister ships to the Titanic. The RMS Olympic (launched in 1910) and the HMHS Britannic (launced in 1914, were the true sister ships to the ill fated RMS Titanic. They were all "Olympic class liners" and were a trilogy of ships planned by the White Star president to dominate the North Atlantic.

The Britannic (was to have been Gigantic) sunk whilst operating as a supply / troop ship in the Greek islands during WW1.

The Olympic however was in use until 1937.

Britannic (Originally the Gigantic) - Youngest sister ship of Titanics sisters. She met her fate when she struck a mine and sunk shortly after.

Olympic - After 25 years of service she was salvaged. Olympic was the only one to survive.

Yes the Olympic and Britannic. There were rumours that the as the Titanic wasn't finished on time the boats were switched and it was actually the Olympic that sunk. I think that they both served up until WW2.

No, but I heard the tale of the story being written almost mirroring the Titanic's fate a few years earlier.
