why does every1 take things so seriously

Here's a joke which fits perfectly here and which describes the way I am.
One day, the Professor gets a new assistant. When they meet for the first time, the Professor tells the assistant:
"We have a lot of rules in this University, but rule number five is very important: do not take things too seriously."
"And what are the other rules?" asks the assistant.
"You already take things too seriously..." says the Professor.

I think it started with a group of melancholy meteorologists who were studying cloud formations when suddenly a gentleman passing by pointed to one picture amongst a number of cloud pictures on the wall and asked, "If that cloud is an altostratus what does a tenorstratus look like?", to which the group turned an looked at the him and cumulatively replied, "Need you cirrusly ask?"

Jokes are great as long as it doesn't hurt anyone in any way. Seen some jokes go awfully wrong.
