www,usps.com is the cheapest , most secure , least problems with customs , and probably as fast as any other as we ship tons of packages to Canada everyday and we use the Post office .

The cheapest way is through ground service also called Priority Mail.

Sending things to Canada from the US should generally take 6-10 days unless it goes through customs which can take up to 5 weeks. It is hell, trust me.

Depending what the item it is might be eligible for USPS Media Mail, which is the cheapest option they have. However, you'd have to check their website for acceptable items. Another option would be the FedEx SuperSaver, which is their discounted rate.

from one country to another it has to go thru customs so that's why it takes so long. You know the folks in customs are either really slow or just lackadaisical in ther conviction to work quickly.
