Kind of a weird question, but I was thinking... what actors not of the human species have been given star billing (in the opening credits) of television shows or movies? Off hand I can only think of Happy the dog on "7th Heaven" and Brandon the dog on "Punky Brewster" (seasons 3 and 4).

Thanks for all of the answers, however I think you may have missed the actual question: What I mean is: Which animal actors were not just the star of the show, but given credit in the opening montage. For example, on Punky Brewster, after they show and give the names of the human actors, it says "and Brandon as Brandon the Wonder Dog" or something to that nature. I figure Lassie was given credit like this, but I wasn't sure of any others.

Well, it's a tricky question. Many aren't included in the credits but were clearly the star of the show. There was Rin Tin Tin, Mr. Ed, Lassie, Bengi, and let's not forget Bugs Bunny, Sylvester the cat, Roadrunner, Wyle E Coyote, Foghorn Leghorn, Porky Pig, and Tweety Bird!
