If there were 2 separate halves, and you didn't touch both halves with your lips when you ate the first piece, it is not double dipping.

If my chip puts on the brakes going into the dip I think I'd be more worried about the chip then about the double dipping :-) Just what kind of chips am I eating????

Here's the solution. Get a small plate. Take a bigger chip. Dig out the fallen chip, it will be covered in dip. Use the extra dip on your plate to dip other chips in and you can double dip to your hearts content on your own plate.

Why would you need to?
My goodness show some control here.....you must have had enough dip the first time cause it was so heavy it broke the chip in two. Eat it plain and get another one.
